Taking it from its name, the CenterPoint Archery Sniper Elite 385 crossbow has a lot of expectations to meet (or better yet, surpass!). Let us learn more of what this crossbow has to offer by placing the spotlight on its many features and enhancements below:

Ease of Assembly

Setting this crossbow up is relatively easy. A manual does come packed with this option, although some hunters attest to it being complicated to follow (it's easier to check out the online video tutorials instead). In a nutshell, though, proper assembly should take no more than 30 minutes - there are 6 major components to be attached and installed together. Here are the important steps that you need to have in mind :

Riser Installation
  1. Locate the crossbow cables. Attach these to the cable slide (take note of the part with a larger gap - this is where it slides towards the crossbow's rail).
  2. When attaching towards the rail, make sure that the string is faced down flat right on top of the rail.
  3. Once these parts are attached, insert the joint cap pad onto the joint cap. Once secured, attach the joint cap onto the rail.
  4. You can now slide the riser towards the rail. Secure the attachment by tightening the riser bolt.
Stirrup Installation
  1. The stirrup is then attached onto the riser by positioning onto the retention grooves.
  2. Use the set screws to secure the installation.
  3. Take note that periodic tightening of the assembly bolts may be needed to keep the stirrup in place.
Quiver Installation
  1. Choose which side of the crossbow you'd want the quiver to be attached onto (the Sniper Elite 385's quiver is a parallel setup - it works either right or left side).
  2. Once you have chosen a side, loosen the screws found on the mounting bracket.
  3. Attach the quiver onto the picatinny rail found right under the barrel (this just right in front of the crossbow's forearm).
  4. Locate and install the quick disconnect quiver mount right at the end portion of the mounting bracket.
  5. Position and connect as preferred the quiver onto the quiver mount (do this by sliding and locking the two mounts onto each other until they lock).
Scope Installation
  1. The scope is simply attached using its specified mount screws.
  2. Fix the scope either moving it backwards or forwards to where your eye should be. A good rule of thumb to follow is at least 3 to 4 inches away from your shooting eye towards the scope eyepiece while in a shooting position.
  3. Once in a comfortable spot, align the scope mount onto the slots found on the sight bridge rail.
  4. Secure the scope with screws onto the grooves found right on the rail.
Butt Stock Length Setup
  1. Position the stock towards your preferred length by pressing the lever found right below this part.
  2. Lock the position in place by simply releasing pressure from the lever.
Foregrip Setup
  1. Tighten or loosen the foregrip screws until you get the desired position.
  2. Adjustment for the crossbow's foregrip is either in a forward or backward orientation.

Checking the Crossbow Technology

Here are some of the shooting and hunting tech enhancements found in the Sniper Elite 385 crossbow:

Superior Silencing System

The Sniper Elite 385 integrates some amazing shooting tech that focuses on sound and vibration reduction. Both the crossbow's limb dampeners and string suppressors have been enhanced, offering not only a silent shooting experience, but a smoother and more consistent release motion as well. Dubbed as the Whisper Silencing System, this innovative tech focuses on silent hunting, a nice boost for shooters to experience the many benefits of taking down prey this way.

Smoother Trigger Tech

The Centerpoint Archery Sniper Elite 385 also makes use of an efficient trigger enhancement. The manufacturer made sure to reduce creep, efficiently allowing for consistent and more accurate shooting. Additionally, this part is ambidextrous, allowing hunters of all hand orientation to fully make use of the crossbow.

Many Adjustable Features
The Sniper Elite 385 is overall good to shoot with.

The Sniper Elite 385 is overall good to shoot with.

This crossbow also conforms to a shooter's specific needs or stance. Versatility is priority with the Sniper Elite 385's many adjustable features, such as the cheekpiece, foregrip, butt stock, and stirrup. With the easy to adjust points, hunters can get the right orientation to suit their specific shooting needs.

Focusing on Safety

Safety is paramount in this choice, which both helps prevent damage on the crossbow and protects the hunter from harm. The trigger mechanism comes with standard anti-dry fire tech and an auto safety feature, which both help in assuring shooters that an arrow is loaded and shot properly. Also, the Sniper Elite 385 comes with large finger guards. This helps hunters keep their fingers away from potentially being in the same track of an arrow and in keeping the crossbow's cables and strings from potential contact. Lastly, this crossbow also has a nice retention spring tech (which uses a ball bearing), for safer and consistent shooting.

CenterPoint Archery Sniper Elite 385 Firepower Check

This crossbow delivers an excellent damage output! The shooting setup of a 185 lbs draw weight and a 14.75" axle-to-axle orientation allows for efficient arrow force, enabling superior penetration on even the toughest hides. The kinetic energy generation of 132 ft/lbs. also allows an excellent follow-through, giving hunters the assurance that their shots will deal the necessary damage. Coupled with the 20" Barnett Headhunter arrows that come with it, you can be sure that every shot will count with this choice.

Construction and Durability

The Centerpoint Sniper Elite 385 is also built strong. The rail, made out of aluminum, creates a balance between weight and durability which also promotes stabler and smoother shots. Focusing on adjustability, this crossbow also has a unique rear stock component. Called the MIL-SPEC AR system, the adjustable stock makes it both tough and easy to attach to the other crossbow components. The buffer part of the MIL-SPEC AR component is also smaller than its contemporaries (approximately two hundredths of an inch smaller in comparison), making it an easier part to fit. Also, the quad limb orientation of this crossbow isn't only strong - this setup boosts marksmanship and power, excellent benefits that the Sniper Elite 385 is proud to deliver.

Accuracy and Shooting Speed Checks

Considering that it is easy to set up and use, it doesn't come as no surprise that the Sniper Elite 385 is highly accurate as well. From a distance of 40 yards from the target, shots fired are tight and sharp. The smooth and consistent shooting motion that this crossbow has pairs well with its speed as well. The 385 fps rating allows for both power and speed, a nice assurance for hunters going up against big prey like deer.

Practical Hunting Usage

The best benefit that this crossbow brings for hunters is how variable and easy it is to use. The simple assembly process (without using the confusing manual, though) helps in quickly getting this crossbow up to speed. The compact yet durable construction also means that this crossbow can be used in all sorts of situations and hunting styles - a nice thought to consider that even beginners can benefit from. The speed and power that this crossbow has are excellent factors to consider, especially when hunting deer or other large targets. All in all, and just like its name, elite performance is expected from this crossbow.

Miscellaneous Information on the CenterPoint Archery Sniper Elite 385

Here are some interesting details for you to know and maximize this crossbow:

What are the specs of the arrows that come in this package?

The Sniper Elite 385 comes with 3 20" carbon arrows. These arrows have a half moon nock.

Is this crossbow compatible with a cocking crank?

Although it doesn't come with one, the Sniper Elite 385 is indeed compatible with a cocking crank. Take note that this crossbow's manual states that installing various parts (even a cocking crank) may void the warranty. Still, having one installed isn't only possible - it makes the cocking process really easy and simple as well!

Why the CenterPoint Archery Sniper Elite 385 is Recommended

Check out these nice reasons why you ought to get this crossbow:

Be a Stealth Hunter

The Whisper Silencing system integrated into this crossbow offers superior sound and vibrating reduction properties. Not only does this innovative system allow for stabler shots, but the smoother shooting sensation this tech offers does help in creating more accurate and consistent shots. Pro shooters can benefit a lot from this enhancement - every little detail matters when going up against prized targets, after all!

Focused on Versatility

From setup to actual usage, the Elite Sniper 385 offers ease of use for shooters of all skill levels. This benefit may be small for some, but for others like novice hunters, having the opportunity to focus on what truly matters during hunts is a benefit to be treasured.

Good Warranty Coverage

The Centerpoint Archery Sniper Elite 385 has a 5-Year limited warranty coverage. The long coverage deals with typical wear and tear encountered by crossbows. Please take note that this warranty does not cover accessories, strings, or cables repair or replacement. More details can be found on the official Centerpoint crossbow warranty section.

Issues that May Need to be Addressed in the CenterPoint Archery Sniper Elite 385

On the other hand, here are some potential problems you may deal with when going for this choice.

No Crank in Package

Although a rope cocker is packed with this crossbow, one who has expected that a crank device would be the go-to choice for the Elite Sniper 385. It may be relatively easy to use, but a cocker may prove to be a hassle especially for shooters with a small build. It may also be possible to have a cranking device to be installed - but this will be at the risk of voiding warranty coverage!

Go For Other Arrows

Although sufficient for target practice, the arrows that come packed with the Sniper Elite may not be at par for actual hunting needs. If you can, go for other better options in the market instead.

Heavier than its Counterparts

Coupled with the rope cocker issue, another reason why the Elite Sniper 385 can be a chore to deal with is its weight. Although subjective since most hunters may find carrying this crossbow at ease, smaller frame shooters may actually find this heavy when compared with other options.

Need for Better Instructions

Another subjective issue that some hunters have with this crossbow is the manual. Although packed with the essentials, it may probably be the delivery that makes this hard to understand for some hunters. When in doubt, seek other resources or a pro shop when adjusting or learning more about this crossbow.

You May Want a Sling for It!

Another small yet significant issue that this crossbow has for some is the lack of a sling. Although a sling can be easily purchased, you may have hoped that the Sniper Elite 385 already comes packed with one. It is a minor detail, but can offer a lot of convenience especially when transporting or carrying the crossbow when out in the wild.
